The infinite auditory illusion that makes the Dunkirk soundtrack so intense (and good)

“I remarked on Twitter recently that "Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack for Dunkirk is outstanding”. The music blends perfectly “ – My Comments : I’ve heard about the "Shepard tone” before, but the Vox video in the linked post did a much better job of explaining it than whatever I’d previously read.
