On the other hand… As cool as this video is, all it made me think of is misguided efforts presenting the F-35 as a replacement for the A-10. There are many reasons why this is an extraordinarily bad idea (see links below), but I’ll just mention the gun for now. The 30mm GAU-8 of the A-10 holds 1874 rounds, firing at a rate of 3900 rounds/minute. The 25mm GAU-22/A, which fires at a rate of 3300 rounds/minute, only holds 182 rounds on the F-35A (USAF) and 220 rounds on the F-35C (USN). That means about four seconds of firing, maybe two bursts.
Stop trying to make CAS happen, F-35, it’s not going to happen. :-p
