I’d been wanting to do some special version of this picture for years. It only hit me yesterday that a Norman Rockwell version would be perfect. Except, well…Rockwell was a master of painting, anatomy and giving life to his figures, and I am not. I tried my best though, and took full advantage of my access to a huge Cintiq.

Homer looks frightening in this. Homer always looks frightening out of his element.

This was very hard. Rockwell’s style is nearly the exact opposite of mine. It was a fun challenge, but it’s not something I’ll attempt again.
