The Police Announce Reunion Tour

The PoliceAfter The Police’s awesome performance last night at The Grammys (YouTube video), it was all but a given that their press conference today would be an announcement of a reunion tour. Earlier today, they did not disappoint and officially announced a reunion tour for North America this summer followed by an international tour in the fall:

The tour will kick off May 28 in Vancouver and will include stops at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee June 16, as well as a performance at Fenway Park in Boston. Many details have yet to be announced, but stops in 13 cities are confirmed. Additionally, the band will announce shows in the following areas: Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Detroit; Edmonton, Alberta; Hartford, Connecticut; Houston; Los Angeles; Miami; Philadelphia; Tampa; the San Francisco Bay Area; the Minneapolis/St. Paul region; and the Washington/Baltimore area. Details about those shows will be announced in the next few weeks.

I’m very excited about this and hope to score some prime tickets when the DC/Baltimore concert is announced. Woo hoo! 🙂

Update: Much more information is available at the official Police Tour home page.

OpenDNS

Use OpenDNSNewsforge has a good article on OpenDNS, which offers

a few free services on top of the traditional DNS to block phishing Web sites and auto-correct common misspelled URLs. And thanks to some clever traffic routing and load-balancing technology, OpenDNS can also deliver Web pages faster.

I’ve been using it for some time now, and although I can’t be sure of how much it speeds up things, it has saved me from some potentially embarrassing typos.

I highly recommend OpenDNS, but be aware that you’ll have to edit your router settings to add the appropriate DNS server addresses.
