As The Comics Reporter reports, “Alex Toth, one of the handful of people who could seriously enter into Greatest Comic Book Artist of All-Time discussions and a giant of 20th Century cartoon design, has passed away at age 77.” His official web site is a great place to visit to learn more about him and his art, which began in the ‘50s and has been an influence ever since. Toth is probably best known as “the maverick comic artist who designed classic Hanna Barbera adventure cartoons such as The Superfriends and Space Ghost,” but that is only scratching the surface.
