Although the Writers Guild of America’s strike continues, late night talk shows returned earlier this week without writers, with one exception. David Letterman’s production company made a separate agreement with the union, so the Late Show With David Letterman (as well as the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, also produced by David Letterman) was able to retain its original writing staff.

One of the first orders of business was David Letterman’s first Top 10 List after his return, Top 10 Demands of the Striking Writers, delivered by actual WGA writers:

Hats off to David Letterman for doing it right.

While I’m on the topic of free MP3 downloads, DJ Earworm has created a great mash-up with his creation United State of Pop, a “mash-up of the 25 most popular songs of 2007 in the USA, according to Billboard.”

The Best of Bootie 2007 CD is an awesome, free (!) CD with the year’s best mash-up MP3s. Definitely worth the download…

FilmSchoolRejects.com’s list of The 20 Most Anticipated Films of 2008 is pretty much right on the money for me…

I couldn’t not mention the 2007 Darwin Awards, which annually “commemorate those who improve our gene pool by removing themselves from it.” Always entertaining in a macabre, schadenfreude kind of way…

The BEAST continues its annual tradition with its list of The 50 Most Loathsome People in America, 2007. A must-read… 🙂

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday! I’ve been even lazier than usual over the holidays about updating the site, so I hope that today’s update will set me on course to do so more regularly.
