An actor playing Chewbacca throws out the ceremonial first pitch prior to a game between the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays Fenway Park in Boston, Wednesday Sept. 28, 2005. Chewbacca and an actress playing Princess Leia were promoting the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit at the Museum of Science in Boston.

Actor Don Adams died on Monday at the age of 82 from a lung infection. Don Adams was best known for his role in the TV Series Get Smart, which cast him as bumbling Cold War secret agent Maxwell Smart. He subsequently starred in several other TV series and lent his voice to shows like Inspector Gadget. Get Smart is one of my favorite shows; Don Adams will definitely be missed.

USA Today reports that
Idaho weatherman [Scott Stevens] says Japan’s Yakuza mafia used a Russian-made electromagnetic generator to cause Hurricane Katrina in a bid to avenge itself for the Hiroshima atom bomb attack — and that this technology will soon be wielded again to hit another U.S. city.
Despite this somewhat, um, unusual belief, Stevens’ station manager claims that “He doesn’t talk about it on his weathercast… He’s very knowledgeable about weather, and he’s very popular.”
