This photograph of the Northern Lights was taken by Yevgeny Pashnin aboard a Lufthansa 747-430 flying over Canada. What I find most amazing is that somehow he managed a 15-second exposure aboard an airliner! Definitely check out the full-sized version…

What happens when you combine 200 liters of Diet Coke and over 500 Mentos mints? It’s amazing and completely insane.

The first part of this video demonstrates a simple geyser, and the second part shows just how extreme it can get. Over one hundred jets of soda fly into the air in less than three minutes.

National Review Online has compiled a list of The 50 Greatest Conservative Rock Songs. It’s an interesting list, but I think that some of the interpretations are stretching things a bit, and I have a feeling that many of the artists included probably wouldn’t expect or want to see their songs in this list.

Paul Gleason died last Monday at the age of 67 of mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer linked to asbestos. Gleason was perhaps best known for his role as Principal Vernon in The Breakfast Club (seen at right), but he also played many other movie and TV roles. I’m a little dismayed that I didn’t hear about this until today, as it is quite sad news…

The entire album is available for download, including the cover art. Maybe not for everyone, but I thought it was cool… 😉
