Just in time for the holiday season, X-Entertainment reviews Christmas Comes To Pac-Land. And you thought Ewok Christmas specials were bad…
Time For The Penguin On Top Of Your TV To Explode
I read this story the other day, and I guess I should have posted it then. However, the Metafilter summary I read this morning really cracked me up, spurring me on to post: “Attention D.C. residents- remain going about your business and please ignore the continuous explosions coming from Dick Cheney’s house.” WTF is going on here?
More Google Goodness
Google Labs has two new things to play with! Google Viewer plays a slide show of results from your search at a configurable delay, and Google WebQuotes “annotates the results of your Google search with comments from other websites.” Neither of these is a killer app IMHO, but the Google Viewer is a neat way to get a snapshot of several sites from your search results quickly.
Stupid Freezing Point
It’s 33 degrees and raining here. What a shitty day.
Who’s Been Naughty and Who’s Been Nice?
I’ve obviously fallen behind in my Page 2 reading, but believe me, this is worth it: “Mr. Claus opens up his annual wish-list mailbag to reveal what some sports personalities are dreaming of this holiday season … and then lets us in on what they’ll actually be unwrapping on Christmas morning.” Skip down to Tonya Harding, if nothing else… 🙂
Fickle Sports Fans
As much as I wanted to disagree with Jim Caple of ESPN’s Page 2, he’s right: when it comes down to it sports fans don’t like much of anything. But I will take a stand on the hair thing: mullets AKA hockey hair really annoy me. And so does Jimmy Johnson’s hair: move, dammit! Oh yeah, and Deion Sanders just pisses me off in general, but that’s a whole other issue…
Well, duh.
Mad Max 4!?
According to CNN, Mel Gibson is set to star in Fury Road, the fourth movie in the Mad Max series. While I really like the series as a whole (OK, maybe not Beyond Thunderdome), I’m not sure about this. I bet they get Danny Glover to costar: “I’m too old for this sheeite!” (my lame attempt at a phonetic Aussie accent) 😉
Where Are They Now? – Dennis DeYoung
The Chicago Tribune has a good article on Dennis DeYoung, lead singer and one of the founders of Styx. It’s kind of a sad story, but it’s not all bad.
Nipple Warmers
Still looking for that perfect gift? Then look no further than New Zealand Possum Fur Nipple Warmers, the gift that keeps on giving. (Probably NSFW)
