I really hope that an article about Tom Cruise shopping around Top Gun II isn’t true. The pitch just sounds spectacularly awful: “The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor – and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.” Instant fail.
Bill Simmons of ESPN Page2 discusses the Holy trilogy of the Karate Kid, asserting that it “ran the gamut from ‘superb’ to ‘awkward’ to ‘wait a second … this isn’t really happening, is it?’” Thankfully he did not forget to mention one of the best movie montages of all time, set to the craptacular ’80s classic soundtrack song You’re The Best (Cynical-C has the must-see video). 🙂
