The video Rare Exports, Inc. (link on page to QuickTime video) has a slow start, but the finish is worth it.
Tenacious D and Dio
Screenhead posts about the video featuring Tenacious D and Dio, commenting that “Dio and Tenacious D joint forces, and yet somehow Satan has not risen up out of Hell to claim earth as his own.” 🙂

Sony Rootkit DRM Fiasco II
As a follow-up to my previous post on the Sony Rootkit fiasco, I thought I’d mention that Boing Boing has posted a summary of recent developments in its Sony Rootkit Roundup IV. Also, the news has finally made The Onion. 🙂

Civ IV v1.09 Patch
Civilization IV is a great improvement on the previous games in the series, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I did notice some annoying video issues which are apparently being addressed by a patch released a couple of weeks ago:
Some of the highlights include multiple AI improvements and tweaks, worker behavior tweaks, MANY game play improvements (ex Animal Husbandry reveals horses), promotion tweaks, a softer pillage sound (requested by many, many people), fixed diplomatic exploits (gold for gold, peace treaty exploit), multiplayer tweaks (Hot seat, Lobby, etc.), memory, caching and performance improvements, etc. There were also a number of video card specific fixes.
TiVo Online Services
TiVo has announced new online services that will include access to Yahoo Weather, Photos, and Traffic, the Live365 radio network, Fandango movie information, and Podcasts. I imagine this will be pushed to TiVo users in the phased fashion they usually employ, but you can sign up for priority access.
The Beerbelly
Just when I thought I’d seen it all, I come across The Beerbelly, a fake gut in which you can store hide alcohol. And I thought using Pringles cans back in college was clever… 😉
