FactCheck.org

Annenberg Political Fact Check is:

a nonpartisan, nonprofit, “consumer advocate” for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. [They] monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases.

With the level of negative advertising rising in both camps, it’s refreshing to see an independent site that attempts to point out inaccuracies in both side’s statements and accusations. I imagine as we get closer to election day, I’ll be visiting this site a lot more often…

Huge Movie Quiz

Google is hiring!

Google is developing an experimental lunar-based research facility, and is looking to staff it. According to the job announcement:

“The Google Copernicus Hosting Environment and Experiment in Search Engineering (G.C.H.E.E.S.E.) is a fully integrated research, development and technology facility at which Google will be conducting experiments in entropized information filtering, high-density high-delivery hosting (HiDeHiDeHo) and de-oxygenated cubicle dwelling. This center will provide a unique platform from which Google will leapfrog current terrestrial-based technologies and bring information access to new heights of utility.”

As you may know, Google has been at the forefront of innovative technology for years, including their patented PigeonRank system. I think it’s worth applying – what’s there to lose?
