The UNESCO "seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity." The UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites contains an amazing array of places, and I hope that I can see but a fraction of them in my lifetime.

Brad Templeton has taken the time to create Google Map links for all of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, allowing you to view satellite images and maps for all of the sites, some of which allow you to zoom in with a good amount of detail.
