Although this was a first for the major Los Angeles airport hub, it was a last for the space shuttle Endeavour, as it completed its tour of California skies and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UyPLjVPSdCg\" target=\"_blank\">landed<\/a>, albeit atop a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boeing_747\" target=\"_blank\">747<\/a>, for the last time. During its\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.space.com\/17711-space-shuttle-endeavour-california-flight-viewing.html\" target=\"_blank\">last flight<\/a>\u00a0the iconic shuttle and its chase planes were photographed near several of California&rsquo;s own icons including the\u00a0<a class=\"hoverZoomLink\" href=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8309\/8009968320_f675eab16e_k.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Golden Gate<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Golden_Gate_Bridge\" target=\"_blank\">Bridge<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/San_Francisco\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/multimedia\/camera-club\/in-photos\/best-pictures-of-the-past-24-hours\/article4561127\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hollywood_sign\" target=\"_blank\">Sign<\/a>, and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/framework.latimes.com\/2012\/09\/19\/endeavour-photos\/#\/10\" target=\"_blank\">skyline of Los Angeles<\/a>. Previously, in May, the space shuttle Enterprise was\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap120509.html\" target=\"_blank\">captured passing<\/a>\u00a0behind several of New York City&rsquo;s icons on its way to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.intrepidmuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Intrepid Sea, Air, &amp; Space Museum<\/a>. Pictured above, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap070708.html\" target=\"_blank\">piggybacking shuttle<\/a>\u00a0was snapped\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a95MB8eucYM\" target=\"_blank\">on approach<\/a>\u00a0last week to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/LAX\" target=\"_blank\">LAX<\/a>\u00a0as it crossed above and beyond a major Los Angeles street.
