I started with 3.1 way back when and remember how crappy the desktop was; Norton Desktop was a must add-on to make it at all palatable, if I remember correctly.  The earlier versions look a lot like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commodore.ca\/history\/company\/turks_geos.htm\" target=\"_blank\">GEOS operating system on the Commodore 64<\/a>; coincidence?
