{"id":13955,"date":"2004-09-02T11:02:00","date_gmt":"2004-09-02T11:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.driko.org\/blog\/2004\/09\/02\/clerks-sequel\/"},"modified":"2004-09-02T11:02:00","modified_gmt":"2004-09-02T11:02:00","slug":"clerks-sequel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.driko.org\/blog\/2004\/09\/02\/clerks-sequel\/","title":{"rendered":"Clerks Sequel?!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/viewaskew.com\/news\/aug04\/3.html\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin Smith<\/a> revealed last week that he plans on revisiting <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/title\/tt0109445\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Clerks<\/i><\/a> with a <a href=\"http:\/\/viewaskew.com\/news\/aug04\/3.html\" target=\"_blank\">sequel entitled <i>The Passion Of The Clerks<\/i><\/a>.  The interview reveals that the sequel will pick up 10 years later and will be &ldquo;about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts into your 30s. Those dudes are kind of still mired, not in that same exact situation, but in a place where it&rsquo;s time to actually grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect pop culture and talk about sex.&rdquo;  Shooting may start as early as January of next year.  I&rsquo;m still a little surprised to realize that the original has been out for ten years, but I&rsquo;m not sure that Smith will be able to pull this one off.  The low budget of <i>Clerks<\/i> was part of its charm, and trying to reproduce that will be impossible.
