{"id":13830,"date":"2004-11-24T12:29:00","date_gmt":"2004-11-24T12:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.driko.org\/blog\/2004\/11\/24\/textbook-disclaimer-stickers\/"},"modified":"2004-11-24T12:29:00","modified_gmt":"2004-11-24T12:29:00","slug":"textbook-disclaimer-stickers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.driko.org\/blog\/2004\/11\/24\/textbook-disclaimer-stickers\/","title":{"rendered":"Textbook Disclaimer Stickers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/NatSci\/cpurrin1\/textbookdisclaimers\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" alt=\"evolution disclaimer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.driko.org\/blogicons\/evolution_disclaimer.jpg\" \/><\/a>In the wake of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cobb.k12.ga.us\/news\/release0822.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Cobb County, Georgia School District<\/a>&rsquo;s decision to add <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2004\/LAW\/11\/08\/evolution.debate.ap\/\" target=\"_blank\">warning stickers to science textbooks discussing evolution<\/a> (reproduced verbatim at right), check out this page of satirical <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/NatSci\/cpurrin1\/textbookdisclaimers\/\" target=\"_blank\">textbook disclaimer stickers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&rsquo;m really getting sick of the religious right sticking its nose where it doesn&rsquo;t belong, in this case trying to undermine science with religious beliefs.  The national news finally picked up on a related story that I had posted about last summer, in which the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.driko.org\/2004\/07\/national-park-service-approves.html\" target=\"_blank\">National Park Service approved the sale of a creationist publication at the Grand Canyon<\/a> that preached its own biblical version of how the Canyon was created.
