Some of them make sense, but others are a bit more arcane.  The site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skygod.com\/asstd\/abc.html\" target=\"_blank\">Airport Codes: The ABC&rsquo;s: A History and Explanation<\/a> does a nice job of explaining some of the more popular codes and the history behind them.  A quick <i>Google<\/i> search for a more comprehensive list resulted in a site entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.world-airport-codes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">World Airport Codes<\/a>.  This is a very thorough site, allowing you to search not only by airport code, country, and airport, but also each airport entry contains a summary of very useful data, including runway length, longtitude and latitude, and elevation.
