\"amazon.com<\/a>CNN<\/i> and the BBC<\/i> report that “Inspired by the runaway success – and public furor – over Gibson’s portrayal of the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus [in the movie The Passion Of The Christ<\/i><\/a>], the creators behind the 1979 biblical satire about an anti-Roman activist who spends his life being mistaken for a prophet are planning a 25th anniversary re-release<\/a>” of Monty Python’s Life Of Brian<\/i><\/a> next month. I can’t really say that the Life Of Brian<\/i><\/a> is one of my favorite Monty Python movies, because there were only three (Monty Python and the Holy Grail<\/i><\/a> and Monty Python’s Meaning of Life<\/i><\/a> are the other two), and I like them all. I think it’s really cool that people will have the opportunity to see the film in the theaters again, but I really think that the film stands well enough on its own merits that the re-release shouldn’t necessarily have been based on protests over Gibson’s film. It definitely adds an amount of levity to the whole situation…<\/p>\n
